Using Castors to Reduce Machine Setup Times and Enhance Process Flexibility

Industrial quality castors can be a very effective design enhancement when it comes to reducing machine setup times for certain machines that use interchangeable fixture pallets. By using a dolly with castor wheels mounted underneath that is matched with the machines unclamped pallet height, the dolly, with a pre-fixed pallet, can be wheeled up to the machine; the existing pallet can then be slid off the machine and the new pallet can be slid into position.
