The applications for stainless steel range from aerospace equipment to modern furniture. Prior to being used in these capacities, stainless steel assemblies are joined together by a process known as brazing, in which a filler metal is placed between pieces of base metal, liquefied under heat, and then cooled. Although all types of steel are brazed using this general process, different alloys require different steel brazing methods.
