Maintenance departments vary considerably from company to company, based on the individual requirements. A Maintenance Manager at one plant may have a vastly different role to another Maintenance Manager at a different plant. However, their overall effect should be the same. Maintenance departments are busy places. Parts need to be ordered, delivered and stored correctly. Jobs need to be analyzed, prioritized and then scheduled accordingly. On top of this comes the design modifications, reliability engineering and the list goes on.
