History - Laroy S. Starrett founded his company in Athol, MA in 1880 a year after he invented the combination square. The company was established initially to manufacture this single product but early success saw the product line steadily increase and this has resulted in a multi-national company which today produces in excess of 5,000 Precision Engineering tools, Measuring Apparatus, Gauges and Saw Blades which are used by Engineers the world over.
