Pre-Flow Strakes On Interior of Pipes Prior to Elbows to Take Advantage of Vortex Flow Dynamics
Pipelines can corrode inside over time. Crude oil pipelines are challenged because there is often sulfuric acid under the ground attached to the oil, and it is quite corrosive. After a while it causes problems on the inside of the pipes, however, if the pipes are flowing properly, there will be less damage done, and corrosion inhibitors can be injected in the pipeline along the way, and later refined out of the crude oil during the refinery process.
